I used - to view my credit score for free. The site kept asking my why I am checking my score. I chose anything in the drop down menu in hopes it would stop asking me the reason for checking score. after I chose auto refinance which was picking anything it asked me a series of questions. I answered them. It did NOT STATE IT WAS SUBMITTING AN APLLICATION TO LENDERS FOR ME! I t did not even ask me if I work or what my income is. I gave No pertinent information to incline it was an application. Next thing I know I am receiving emails from companies about an " application '' submitted! This put a hard inquiry on my credit report. I did NOT authorize this application! I am in the middle of applying for a mortgage and would never apply for credit at this time. I called the called the companies and explained this. They are not willing to remove the inquiry from my credit even though I did not know it was an application. I have called - and complained to them about their site. They make it look like a screening tool when it is actually submitting an application. No where on the site did it ask If I would like to submit an application. very misleading and I want the inquiry removed.
