I have a money market account with an online bank called AmTrust Direct ( part of New York Community Bank ), and I would like to close it. I wrote the bank -/-/- asking them to close the account and send me the balance. I have heard nothing. I called them on -/-/2015 and spoke to someone named - who said he could see that the bank had received my letter on -/-/2015, but the account had not been closed. He said he entered a request into their system to the online banking department to determine the status of my account closure request. He took my mobile phone number and said the online banking department would call me. I have heard nothing further from the bank and have not received a check for the balance of my account.
