I have been sent an email from my employer that I have a Writ of Garnishment on my wages. I printed out the information and it does not or have I ever been notified what credit card debt this is from. I thought I needed to be sued first before having my wages garnished. I did not receive a summons of the suit and therefore could not represent myself to defend this issue. The issuing court was the state of Connecticut - court. - ID : -. The only debt that was in collection was - - for $5600.00 and that has been over 7 years which is the statue of limitation since - of the credit reporting agency 's dropped it off my credit report thru - -. That debt started back in 2008. The amount they are garnishing from my paycheck is $7500.00 Have not been contacted before this happened.
