I had an automatic payment scheduled for my car insurance to come out on - -, 2015. Since the direct deposit for my payroll was - -, I normally would have asked the insurance company to delay a few days to ensure funds availability, however on this occasion I forgot. Realizing my mistake, I checked my account several times during the day and evening on the - to see if the payment had been posted but the transaction was not listed on the website. In the event that the payment was posted on the -, my plan was to borrow funds and deposit it into the account via ATM before -. ( Previously a bank representative had advised me that an ATM deposit making the account positive before - would help me avoid the fee. ) The following day when my direct deposit was applied, the previous day 's balance showed as negative then the fee was applied.
