November 12, 2015 - We paid off our monthly balance on our Southwest miles card from Chase and were still charged interest on the next month 's bill. I was informed this is because of a residual interest. Where if you carry a balance one month, you have to pay off at least two months in a row to not have interest. The part that bother 's me is that the statement says How to Avoid Interest " If you pay your account in full each billing period by the date and time due, no interest is charged on new purchases month to month. '' I found this very misleading. The Chase person said, yes, of course, it says " each '' wh...

November 9, 2015 - For online automatic payments, Chase only offers the option to pay the minimum monthly payment or the full balance. There is no option available to automatically pay more towards the principle ( minimum + additional toward principle ). Chase, on a monthly basis, sends balance transfer / promotion checks to customers enticing them to borrow money against their available card balance. To me, this is a classic " repayment trap '' designed to get customers to transfer balances to their Chase card, then by not providing an option to pay more than the minimum monthly payment in order to expedite the...

July 11, 2015 - Its a pretty simple issue. I have a credit card balance that I 'm trying to pay down, and my credit card company Chase offers - methods for setting up a recurring monthly payment. You can either auto pay the full amount, or you can auto pay the minimum amount. They offer no option to auto pay an amount above the minimum, but below the full amount, therefore making it harder for the average consumer to automate and pay off their debt at something other than the minimum amount due.
