JPMorgan Chase Credit Card Complaint

Payoff process

JPMorgan Chase Credit card department,

Payoff process Ohio

I was sent a billing statement by Chase for my - credit card for a balance of $ -. Before the stated due date on the statement, I paid not only the entire balance from that statement, but also covering the few purchases from the current billing period. Once the payment pasted, by balance reflected $0.00. This payment posted and the balance showed $0.00 before the stated due date, let alone before the account cycled for the following month. To my surprise, I checked my balance about a week later and saw an interest charge of $ -. Confused as to how I was charged interest on a $0.00 balance, I contacted Chase and they advised it was the interested that had accrued on the balance that was carried over from the previous months balance. The logic of this is simply ridiculous. Essentially what that means, is that it is quite literally impossible to pay off your balance in any given month if you had n't paid it in full the previous month. Even if you got a bill and paid it the very next day for the amount on the bill, they would still charge you interest for the

to interest ''. The main point I 'm trying to make here is that if you send a bill for a certain balance amount and you pay that entire balance before the stated due date, you should not be subject to interest for that particular billing period. This is a very misleading business practice and I felt it warranted escalation in this manner. P.S. - They refused to waive my fee after I clearly laid out my grievances in multiple cordial contact attempts. However, they did waive my wife 's interest, who was in the exact same situation. Not sure how that happened, but there seems to be a lack of consistency in their fee waiver process.
