JPMorgan Chase Credit Card Complaint

Payoff process

Payoff process Ohio

Purchased Items, and Credit Holds '' ( like for a rental car ) are processed in real time and suck up any and all available funds right up to and sometimes beyond your credit limit '' Merchandise returns, and Credit Hold '' releases are processed at the merchants and banks own sweet time. In my experience with CHASE, usually 5-7

credit limit, $400.00, and a single weekly car rental often wo n't process because of the available credit '' required for a hold, often $200.00 above the rental cost. I 've often pre-paid for car rentals, ( to get the lowest rate ), had the transaction clear and post to my account, and then be told at the airport rental counter or lot gate, that I ca n't have the car which I pre-paid for, because paying for the rental in advance has used up too much of my available credit and there 's not enough for the hold ''. This also sometimes happens @ hotels as well. If the overnight charge does n't leave you enough available credit, you cant have the room for want of a security deposit hold '' they want to put on the same credit card. Also, CHASE Banks in the -, OH area will no longer allow ANYONE but the account owner, with a valid government photo ID, make a payment to any CHASE bank account that they are not personally listed as a owner of, in person at the teller. Which means that if I 'm traveling in a state or area without a CHASE Branch, it is impossible for anyone but me to personally replenish my meager $400.00 credit limit. So, I 'm forced to over-credit the account, which is limited to about $300.00, or have no available access to credit by paying down the outstanding balance until I return home, and personally make a deposit. ( - work-around this forces me to use is leaving my ATM/Debit Card and its PIN # with a relative, so that they can move money between checking accounts and credit card balance while I 'm on the road. Or, rip me off as they see fit, to avoid making them a co-owner of my accounts. ) CHASE online banking will NOT allow you to transfer or over-pay the current POSTED balance despite the fact that holds or charges that have n't posted may have tied up all your available credit. I have had some merchant charges take 7-business days to move from temporary authorizations '' to posted activity '' Also, if there is an erroneous or fraudulent charge sitting in temporary authorizations '', tieing up your available credit, there is no way to challenge that error/fraud amount until it moves from pending '' to posted '', again something that can take 5-7 business days, sucking up all your available credit while traveling, or away from your home bank branch. ( I have tried for a credit limit increase annually since this credit card account was transferred from - Bank to CHASE in -/-/-, but CHASE cut the credit line by 50 % then, just days after - cut it by 50 %, and no one at CHASE offers any hope of it ever being returned to its original $1600.00 limit, despite my a stellar payment record with CHASE over a -. ( I do have other outstanding credit issues, resulting from impossible to pay medical bills, after a no-fault auto accident in -/-/-. )
