October 22, 2015 - I was late with my payment due to my wife taking over the bills and not paying the balance. American Express has continued to call my parents at their own address at phone numbers that were never given to AME-. I do n't appreciate the utter embarrassment they have caused me in calling my parents regarding a past due balance. My finances are not my parents business nor anyone elses. I sure hope this complaint gets attention, as I will be follow up regarding this complaint. October 6, 2015 - Opened an American Express account so that we could use on vacations so that we would not have to carry cash with us. After coming back from vacation we received a bill saying that it must be paid in full. They would not accept payments and turned it over to a debt collector with which we settled with out of court. They will call - times within 2 or 3 minutes. They call, hang up with no message and call right back and will do this multiple times/day.
