Upon graduating, I was told my monthly loan payment would be over $1100.00 & that there was no other option for me to repay unless I went by their repayment plan. I have tried to talk with - ( Sallie Mae ) about a lower re-payment option, such as any income based rates, and have been told no that I need to pay my monthly amount or I will default. My interest rate keeps increasing and my amount owed has never gone down in the 3 years I have paid. I work full time at a decent paying job and most of my paycheck monthly is paid to these loans. I have never missed a payment, but I have used all of the allotted time ( 12 months in total ) to put payments on hold due to family and medical emergencies.... |

We are supposed to pay them $570.00 a month. We are in forbearance right now because we just ca n't afford the payments at the month and there is no other way to defer the payments. There has been a lack of continuity from customer service, I have been yelled at by managers, and no one ever seems to know what is going on with my account. The representative advised that Sallie Mae will only discuss the rate reduction with borrowers who are delinquent on the account.
