I called Sallie Mae to find out more information regarding their Rate Reduction Plan. The representative advised that Sallie Mae will only discuss the rate reduction with borrowers who are delinquent on the account. I do n't understand how borrows who are delinquent get rewarded with lower interest rates, and borrowers who are struggling, but still make payments on time are punished by not having access to a program created to help borrows repay their student loans.
