Bank of the West Debt collection cont'd attempts collect debt not owed debt was paid June 8, 2016 - My bank issued an overdraft statement from my checking account at Bank of the West in 2011. I called the Bank of the West and told them their was an error. They told me that the amount I owed was credited to me and I did not owe them any money and that the error was corrected. By mistake, they then sent the original amount I owed of $360.00 to a collection agency. I called them and sent them a copy of my bank statement showing the credit.
