I opened up a personal checking account with TCF Bank online on -/-/2017. They requested a supposed " credit check '', which I submitted to, but have never received the results of this supposed credit check. On -/-/2017 TCF Bank said via email that my account was opened, I received nothing. On -/-/2017 they told me via email that my debit card was in the mail. I received this debit card on -/-/2017, which had the wrong name on it! I have absolutely no idea how TCF Bank came up with this wrong name after supposedly doing a credit check. The name was not -, but instead is -! Who is that? I have no idea.
support said that they could. I went into the TCF Bank located at : -, -, MI - on this same date, which again was -/-/2017. I took in the card and ID, told them it had the wrong name, they had no idea what I was talking about. They got that particular bank manager to come over, she had no clue what I was talking about. The wrong name! So they had me fill out a name change form. Why? I have no idea. Because they do not know what they are doing at this location either. I did the name change form. They said a new card with the correct name would be mailed out in 2 business days. Fast forward a week later, no card and name on account is still wrong. I call the 800 number for TCF Bank on -/-/2017, she calls the local bank in -, MI. The location in -, MI never even sent in this name change form! So it was sitting at this office for an entire week, with my personal information on it, plus my Social Security number. This is outrageous for a bank! Who trains these idiots? The lady on the phone says again, the name will be changed in 2 business days and a new card mailed out. It is currently -/-/2017 and I just logged into my TCF Bank account, the name is still wrong! It is still listed as -. This is direct deposit from Social Security. This is a lump sum for Social Security - because I am -, as per the Federal Govt. figured out. I do not appreciate being treated like this by TCF Bank. I currently do not have access to my funds either! I do not have any ID to match to the account or the bank debit card that says my name is -. I have given them over a week and a half for a simple name change, that should not have been wrong in the first place. It is still wrong.
