I had signed up with PayPal Smart Connect which was supposed to help keep my bank account safe when making purchases online but was to automatically deduct the amount from my account and " filter '' it through PayPal so the vendor could gain access to my bank. Somewhere along the line the Smart Connect merged with the credit, which I was unaware of. I made a $70.00 purchase, which I had assumed came out of my account already. It was n't until the first payment was late that I received an email notifying me. So I made the first minimum payment late but they threw on a $25.00 late fee. The second payment was apparently late as well and the fee went up to $35.00 and just keeps hiking up. So now, where my original purchase was only $70.00, I now owe them $120.00 and the minimum payment has jumped up from $25.00 to $90.00 after just 2 months. They are calling 4 or and 5 times a day and at - on Sunday mornings.
