We had a credit card through Chase ( specifically the Southwest rapid rewards card ) that we paid off the balance and closed the card in -/-/-. The card was not closed as we had requested and we were charged an annual fee of $100.00. When I received a statement in - regarding this I called Chase on -/-/- and requested the card be closed. They agreed to close the card and refund the annual fee. I then received another bill -/-/- with the $100.00 charge, an interest charge of $1.00 and a late fee of $25.00. I called again on -/-/- and was told there was no evidence the card was cancelled or that the annual fee was refunded. I spoke with a supervisor who stated that she could not refund the annual fee and that I would have to fax a letter to the executive office. She also would not allow me to speak with her supervisor ( name -, in - OH )
