U.S. Bancorp Consumer Loan Complaint

Vehicle lease Taking out the loan or lease

U.S. Bancorp Consumer Loan department,

Vehicle lease Taking out the loan or lease New Jersey

My lease matures on - - and the car is due back within 10 day so maturity. In the beginning of -, I called the US BANK to confirm that my final payment submitted cleared my financial obligation excluding charges for excess mileage, wear and tear etc ... They confirmed that I had satisfied my lease and in fact had a $29.00 overpayment credit. No funds were due to US Bank. Today, - I received an invoice from US BANK for $430.00 due for -. Confused I called the bank. After significant hold time, the first agent confirmed I owed nothing and had a credit. But, she could not explain the bill. After a transfer and hold time, second agent explained that a " computer sends the bills. '' I explained that this must be illegal, as I do not owe them anything and had I not called, I might have sent them the $430.00. She said that it was just an error and I could ignore it. Not satisfied, I requested that I log a complaint. She transferred me to billing. After 20 minutes holding, a clerk got on the phone and told me that the bill was "

are satisfied. And, on my - calls to customer service in the past in preparation for the car inspection and return, no one had ever mentioned anything about keeping the car month to month and paying a fee that is less than my original lease. She was insistent that this was common practice and US Banks only intent. This is clearly US Banks attempt to fool customers into over paying against a balance that does not exist. In any other business this would be considered stealing under no uncertain terms. It is clear fraud to present an invoice for an amount you do not owe. The US BANK should not be permitted to continue practices like this.
