Discover Credit card department,
My available credit shown on line was not accurate and caused me to have a transaction declined which was for auto parts needed in a timely manner. I was informed by Discover 's chat representative that it is a result of how Discover posts payments. Payments are showing as available credit online before they hard post to the account. I have - other active credit cards, - which updates credits once the payment hardposts and - the day the payment is scheduled and not tied to posting. Discover 's practice is deceptive and should be systematically fixed so that a customer has accurate information available to them. In this particular case, I would not have attempted to use the card if the credit was not showing as available. The chat rep indicated that apparently the gap is from - pacific to sometime the following day.
