Checking account Problems caused by my funds being low Georgia
On -/-/- I made an order online at -, charged it to the debit card associated with my bb & t checking account. I realized I had done this and immediately and changed the payment method as it was supposed to go on another account for a family member. According to my check register, which i have to keep because bb & t 's online account info has always been misleading with their classification of pending, I had - The order was for -, and was marked as pendung unbeknownst to me. I noticed the pending discrepancy monday and contacted - who confirmed that they had changed the payment and that they would not receive funds. Thinking the erroneous non charge would drop off, since it was already posted to the other account, i did n't act. I honestly had no inkling that bb & t would lock my account and post an overdraft fee with no pending status all in order to line their own pockets yet they did! When i called customer service I was bluntly and rudely told that amazon was in possession of the funds and that bb & t had nothing to do with the
status was released by the next morning and the funds were back in my account at the right amount. Even if id been given warning that the overdraft fee was going to be placed I would have made a deposit but they never assessed a pending status to it. Their practices are a ripoff, disreputable, and unscrupulous. In -/-/- it was found that my grandmother who passed in -/-/- had an open bb & t account of which we were not aware due to my dad - 3 months after she passed. By the time we discovered this, because of social security scheduled deposits being suspended on death-which the bank had to have been aware of-monthly maintenance and penalty fees were assessed to a point that the remaining balance would n't buy lunch. Bb & t gladly accepted blood money and laughed all the way to the proverbial bank.
