Other bank product/service Account opening, closing, or management Utah
I visited a branch of Zion 's Bank a few months ago and received a copy of my statement. The statement had an address on it that was unfamiliar to me. The address was - - HOLD AT UT - - DO NOT MAIL. I did some research and found that the address belonged to Nevada State Bank, an affiliate of Zion 's Bank. The address involved a service called External Transfer to a Friend. I spoke to a representative from Nevada State Bank who told me there was an online account under my tax ID and name, ( along with a signature card ), at their bank. I asked if she could send me a copy of the signature card but was denied. I was not aware of any online account at this bank ( which was connected to my account at Zion - Bank ), nor was I aware of any External Transfer to a Friend. I never filled out an application or signed a card for this service. I had no intention or reason to be sending money to anyone. I then sent an email to the administration of Nevada State Bank to inquire about this online
administration and they suggested I call Zion 's Bank. I sent an email to Zion 's Bank, they told me that the account was a trust account owned by my family and that I would have to reach the " Trustee '' of the Trust for information. They said that I was not a signer on the account. There are - problems with this reply : 1 ) I was the only signer on this account, I have attached the signature card from my account at Zion 's. The card states that the bank is authorized and directed to take instructions concerning the account from myself only. 2 ) The service External Transfer to a Friend specifically states that Business, Organization, and Trust accounts are NOT ALLOWED. I mentioned this in an email to Zion 's Bank and asked for a reply from them, the response was that I should seek an attorney. I should not need an attorney to get information regarding a bank account that I owned.
