On - 2016 I deposited a third party check which was a settlement for my friend - -. Chase requested that she produce ID. on - - we went to the Chase bank in - and all she could provide is a - - ID and they would not accept it. If she had proper ID she would have opened an account. On - - my account was closed at which time since the check cleared I should have received a refund check for the balance. They are hold the funds for approximately 2 months. The payer, her lawyer - - - has called to confirm that she is - - and that she gave permission for me to cash the check. She is homeless and needs these funds. Chase should have either returned the fund to - - - - 's account or provided as certified check. This is unlawful for them to hold these funds
