I was recently charged an overdraft fee on my BBVA Compass account of -, but no where on my bank online did it show that I went negative. If the bank is going to charge an overdraft fee, then there should be transparency and the bank should, at the very least, show me where I went negative. Instead, my balance never reaches a negative balance on my bank online. I feel that the method of accounting that this bank is using is meant to take advantage of consumers because people are being overcharged non-sufficient funds when their accounts never reach a negative balance on their bank online. If the banks are going to be charging overdraft fees, then they should, at the very least, show you why they charged you a fee.
