I had a private loan that had partly defaulted because of -/Navient 's unwillingness to work with me with during a time I found myself unemployed. It was only after the loan defaulted that I was able to work something out with the debt collection agency, - -. The loan was eventually paid off as agreed under a settlement on -, 2016. For several months I pleaded with - the collection agency and with Navient to provide me with a letter that indicated the loan was paid as agreed. - parties insisted that it was the other party who had to provide me with said letter. After many calls finally Navient sent me a letter on - -, 2016, but the letter as it is written is inadequate as it does not state in an unequivocal manner that the loan has been paid and completely satisfied. The letter they provided indicates that once the funds from the final payment clear, Navient would consider the loan fully paid. But my issue is that the final payment was made back in -, 2016 and the letter was written in -, 2016, I would assume that in 4-months time an electronic payment would
collection agency claiming that it is the agency that must provide such letter, but the agency fully rejects this assertion and sends me back to Navient. Every time I call Navient and request to speak with either a manager or their legal department their response to me is that they can only connect me with a supervisor 's voicemail and will not allow me to speak with their legal department. When I ask to get put through to leave the voicemail for the supervisor I am placed on hold and summarily get hanged up on, repeatedly. I have been getting the runaround for months now and have had it. Since they will not make this right I think it 's only proper to report them to the proper authorities in the hope that others will not have to endure the same heartache as I 've had to at the hands of this shady company.
