Shortly after I - with my - in - 2015 I was contacted about the repayment process of my loans. My private loans are through Navient. The monthly payment was n't affordable ( still is n't ) by any means. I 've contacted them weekly to discuss any options that I may have. I was told that I could n't get a forebearance unless my loans were paid current. By this point I could n't even begin to make my account current. I provided them income verification and have done server all other steps to try to resolve my account. But I 've been told there is nothing they can do. Upon, further looking into my account I started to question the amounts of the loans as my tuition for school was significantly less that the amount of the original loan. I have on several occasions requested copies of the Master Promisary Notes for these loans and Navient has yet to provide them to me. At this point I am questioning whether these are in fact my loans or not. Also, the loan monthly payments that they are requesting are a significant financial hardship as they total roughly 60 % on my monthly income. I 've come to the point where I feel I have no options and not even sue what a next step would be to starting to resolve this issue. Navient has been far from helpful in this matter.
