Non-federal student loan Dealing with my lender or servicer Don't agree with fees charged Washington
After defaulting on - private loans provided by Navient, formerly - -, my loans were handed to - -, - to attempt and collect the balance owed. In - of 2014 I entered into a zero-interest reduction repayment plan with monthly payments of $250.00 and an interest rate of 0.01 % on all - loans. Two months ago after filing my taxes I realized my balance seemed significantly higher than it should being on this type of interest reduction plan. I called and spoke with - -, - who verified I was on the correct reduction plan, but that only - of my loans actually had the plan applied to it and this had been the case for the nearly three years I have been paying ; as such I am being wrongfully charged interest. I have been fighting with the company for nearly two months to correct the issue and I continue to be told that it is being taken care of, but then nothing happens. I 've now been told by - representatives and their respective managers that the process is being started to request a correction to my interest rates as well as a balance adjustment, retroactively reflecting the correct interest charges dating back to - of 2014. This seems like a direct violation of our contractual agreement regarding repayment - what, if any, course of actions can I take? I continue to be charged wrongfully on my debt - which is a significant amount of money based on the amount owed.
