I recieved a check for $550.00 dollars that was post dated -/-/2016. I deposited the check into a personal bank account on -/-/2016 with my bank, Commerce Bank . Funds were not available for the check when it was processed on -/-/2016. Commerce Bank proceeded to charge me $10.00 for a returned check AND did not re-run the check. My account was never overdrawn and I was told that the check would be sent back to the originator by a Commerce employee on -/-/2016. It is improper for a bank to process a post dated check before the date on the check, charge an account holder for essentially doing nothing except mailing the check back to the originator, not re-posting the check on or after the date it was deposited and not communicating to me that the check would not be re-posted to my account.
