I co-sign on a loan with KIA Finance for my son. They initially started off with misrepresentation by telling me if I cosigned for my son for 6 months they would be able to take me off the loan. Later I found out that they could n't take me off and he would have to find someone to refinance the car in his name only. Now over a year later, I contacted my son so he could make a payment of $310.00 by -/-/- so my credit would not be messed up. I got the amount off of their website in the amount due column. Today I notice that the $310.00 was paid but it was still showing us $78.00 past due. It appears they took the $78.00 out and applied it to a nsf charge that was done on - and another nsf charge that was paid on -/-/-. One of the agents said that whoever put the payment in put it in incorrectly and they can not apply part of the reg payment to nsf charges. I also asked if he owed these charges why did n't they take it out of the payment when he over paid

I explained to them that one of the charges did n't occur until the - of - so we would not have had knowledge of this until the next statement was issued and the other charge should have been took care from the overpayments in - and -. Right now I am trying to get the $47.00 up so my credit will not have any negative marks on it. I am totally confused at Kia 's misleading business habits. It is very upsetting to pay what their website asked for and find out the funds was mishandled.
