Non-federal student loan Can't repay my loan Can't temporarily postpone payments Texas
I am a - with private loans. Navient has been calling me to request that I start repayment, since my grace period of 4 years is over. I have spoken to them several times and have described my situation as follows : I am still in school. My program does not allow me to find work besides the assistantships that they require me to fulfill ( this is standard in the field in which I am pursuing my degree ). As a result, I am unable to procure for myself additional income. This is of importance because my stipend only covers my basic necessities. I have gone over my finances with them multiple times, in detail. I have shown that I am unable to repay at the moment. Whenever I offer to pay the amount that I am able to pay ( $ -- $100.00 per month ) they have rejected it saying that it is not enough. They claim that they are willing to help, however, in the end, if I do n't pay the minimum amount ( which I can not afford ) they will not compromise. In addition, I have colleagues that are also past their 4
ever able to speak to associates that pressure and harass me and do not try to work with me on this issue. I would greatly appreciate any help. I am not trying to get out of repaying, I just have not completed my program and I worry about next year also because I still have one year of internship to complete, where my income will also be limited. Thank you.
