Non-federal student loan Dealing with my lender or servicer Don't agree with fees charged New York
I went to - - and recieved little to no government assistance for some unknown reason, considering I was not dependant on my parents at all. This forced me to turn to private loans. Now, I have almost - in private student loan debt. The monthly payments are $1200.00 and I can not afford to live. Even after making this payments on the loans, my interest is 9 % ,8 %, 7 % interest so that the loans continue to get bigger. I own two businesses and would otherwise be doing well for myself. I have called, emailed, sent in letters to the private loan companies, only to have them raise my rates instead of lowering them. There is no end in sight, I would have to be making - per year just to live a normal life. Where is the protection on these loans? Why ca n't I refinance them? The fact of the matter is this, this rock is too heavy to lift because it causes me to have a horrible credit score. Bad credit = no loans to buy a house or get money to start another businesses. It 's a vicious cycle and I have exhausted all of my options. I can not refinance them because no one will lend me a better rate because of my credit ( even though I make every payment on time ). Please help me do something, anything to get out of this debt trap I am in. It has caused me to tell everyone I know to forgo college until this fraudulent behaviour is fixed.
