I just received a notice from Capital One notifying me that my credit card and personal information were involved in a data breach at a business which I had made a purchase at recently. The letter was informing me that they were canceling my card and re-issuing me a new - as a security precaution. The letter ( and subsequent ) email which I received from them did not name the merchant involved in the data breach. When I called to find out what merchant it was they would not divulge the information and said that they had no way of knowing which merchant it was who had the data breach.
