Non-federal student loan Dealing with my lender or servicer Don't agree with fees charged North Carolina

In - I became a Co-signer for my daughter on a - - Student Loan. At that time I believed this Loan was a Federal Loan and that - - was the supervising agent for the government. In - my daughter obtained a second - - Loan using my brother as a cosigner. These - loans totaled $38000.00 at 10.553 APR. Currently the unpaid balances on these loans total - my daughter was in school I was able to stay current with loan payments but in - my daughter graduated and the total payments per month on the - loan payments escalated astronomically from $75.00 per month to over $500.00 per month.Over the past two years, Navient has taken over supervision of these loans. In spite my best efforts to stay current on payments, the loans have gone into arrears. I have tried to stay current on these loans but the increase in loan payments have been too much for me to handle. I am a retired teacher with limited financial resources. I have tried to work out some reasonable terms for repayment of these loans but Navient has only offered limited reduction in the repayment rates. Meanwhile they continue

At this time I feel that my rights as a consumer are being violated and want your agency to investigate the collection practices employed by Navient especially as to the rates charged by them and the harassing tactics they employ. My daughter works - jobs or less than - dollars per hour and is unable to pay off these loans without my help.My wife has suffered with - - or over 12 years and is limited in her ability to work. We are not looking or a hand out. We just want to be treated airly with consideration for our rights as consumers.
