I received an alert via email saying that my credit score decreased due to a hard inquiry on -/-/2016. Upon review of my credit report, there is a hard inquiry from an auto dealership I have no knowledge of, and I never authorized this inquiry. TransUnion went on to say they can not remove this inquiry without a letter from the inquiring company allowing this inquiry to be removed. The auto dealership said they never pulled my credit report, they also informed me they do not use social security numbers to pull inquiries, in most cases. The customer name from the inquiry does not match my name, and her address is now listed on my credit report. I have never held residence at the addresses on - -. Neither companies are helping me resolve this error.
