Barclays Credit card department,
Forbearance / Workout plans Virginia
I filed a previous complaint about Barclays Bank because their records were in such bad shape that I could not get anyone to discuss my charged off account so that I could settle it. ( They thought it was with a collection agency, the collection agency said it was still with Barclays, this went on despite many many phone calls trying to find someone who would accept a payment ) My previous CFPB complaint prompted action from their president 's office to fix those issues so that I was able to enter into a settlement agreement. I paid the amount required by the settlement agreement by - -, 2015. I was told the credit reporting would update on - - to show that I no longer owed a balance to Barclays. However, on that date, they only took off the payments I made. They are still reporting that I owe them approximately $3000.00 even though under the terms of the settlement agreement I owe them nothing and the balance should be -. I attempted to call, and spoke with a regular customer service representative and then a supervisor, who - said the balance would NOT be updated. Barclays is either refusing to abide by the terms of our settlement agreement, or its employees are simply not competent enough to update things correctly. This needs to be updated asap because I am in contract on a home purchase, and it can not go through while the lending bank thinks I owe money to Barclays.
