TransUnion Credit reporting department,
Credit monitoring or identity protection Account terms and changes Michigan
Was a victim of identity theft, someone opened an account, in another state, with - using my name & my ss # on -/-/2015. On that very same day happens to be the very same day I last logged in and obtained my credit report from free credit report -. The issue with - has been corrected and they have supplied notice via email attached. I was taking the further step of installing credit freezes, starting with TransUnion. On the TransUnion web site they indicate as a victim of ID theft I was entitled to placing a freeze though their site free of charge as a victim residing in Mi. I was charged $10.00 and supplied a reciept. I contacted customer service at TransUnion, they indicated that there was no freeze in place and they had no record of charging my account. I offered to supply the receipt and copy of charge showing on my credit card, they issued a Ref ID # - and a phone number for a supervisor ; - - -. I have made repeated attempts ( - ) to contact, leaving messages with all contact information ref # etc. I can not get a response.
