Synchrony Bank Credit card department,
Advertising and marketing Virginia
-/-/- A - service offered me a CareCredit brochure. The brochure seems to say that you can have 6 months to pay off the charge interest-free. - Reviews of the credit card and the issuing bank were generally low. I went to the CareCredit.com web site for more info and used the Payment Calculator to calculate payments for financing a $850.00 charge. Results are below but there seems to be a hidden fee. - Plan Term : Estimated Monthly Payment to avoid interest and pay only the amount financed : 6 Month $140.00 12 Month $71.00 18 Month $48.00 When I did the math, I was paying back $2.00 extra on the 6 and 12 month plans but $14.00 more on the 18 month plan. I think this is a hidden fee. I visited the CFPB site and saw the action against CareCredit in -/-/-. Today, in -/-/-, the brochure and website use the terms " promotional purchase '' and " promotional period. '' It 's not that clear to me what that means. " Promotional '' made my alarm bells go off.
