Sallie Mae Student loan department,

Non-federal student loan Can't repay my loan Can't decrease my monthly payments Missouri

My daughter and I borrowed money from Sallie Mae to cover tuition for - semesters at the University -. The checks were written to the University and endorsed by my daughter. - of these loans are now being handled by -, which I do n't totally understand. We are trying to consolidate these loans and hopefully negotiate a lower interest rate. There are institutions that are willing to help but claim that if the loans do not show up in the - - - - ( - ) they can not help us. I do not understand how money that was borrowed from the Federal Government and used strictly for tuition is not considered a Federal Student Loan.
