Non-federal student loan Dealing with my lender or servicer Received bad information about my loan Pennsylvania
I have been asking for several years for an explanation of how the balance of my loan is so high. Frankly, I have another loan I am paying on through - and thought that that was the only loan. Then I got confused when a company called - was asking for money. I do not remember having - loans. The loan was for my daughter to go to what was originally - - -, then it changed to - University. This school is closed. I have never received a breakdown of the total costs. The - loan was about $ - and I have been making payments. The - loan I am disputing as they are saying that the amount now due is over $ - and I have been disputing this for a while now. I have sent letters and only received a note of the original amount which was $ -. I have yet to see a detailed statement of how on earth it has doubled. This seems like loan sharking. And they are now contacting my workplace. If the note can be proven to be accurate, I will assume my debt and pay that balance off. But the fact that I can not even see what the loan was for originally PLUS how it has grown to this substantial and overwhelming balance is more than frustrating.
