Credit monitoring or identity protection Problem with fraud alerts New Jersey
Transunion allows opening of personal web site accounts ( no other rating agencies do ). My ID was hacked from my previous employer. Fraudster then opened Transunion web account with my info and then ordered a credit report for TU promotional rate of $1.00. Transunion then recorded these transactions on my credit report. After numerous contacts to Transunion, they refuse to notate these on-line inquiries as fraudulent, they keep saying they do not matter. There seens to be a systemic issue with Transuion - number one - they should not offer persistent web accounts to individuals - since most folks would never open them and it seems like a perfect opening for fraudsters. Number two, they should allow notation on these inquiries that clearly show their fraudulent origin.
