I attended the University of - from -/-/--/-/- for my undergraduate degree. - loan of my was private through - -, now Navient. When I completed my - degree -/-/- to a terrible economy I was allowed a forbearance and then a reduced payment. I was unable to find a full time job for 6 years. In the 3rd year I started working as a -. I was making - dollars -. I had to - to pay this loan each month, but I did it to keep it in good standing. I 've been working full time now, underemployed, for just over a year, and I declared bankruptcy to get rid of old personal debt. Clearly, I 'm struggling. As soon as Navient took me out of " bankruptcy forbearance '' they more than doubled the expected monthly payment. I called several times to ask for help. They took a " financial statement '' from me twice, each time they counted my income differently. - stated I had - dollars a month available cash to pay the loan and another stated I had -. Neither are true. I am scraping by and unable to put anything in savings at all. I offered to pay what I was paying before the bankruptcy, and they refused. I pleaded with them, and I was told that they had done enough for me and now there was nothing more they were going to do.
