Non-federal student loan Can't repay my loan Can't decrease my monthly payments Michigan

In 2006 I took a a loan through - - ( now Navient ) in the amount of $20000.00 to attend - - University in - Michigan. I tried to contact them many times to work out a payment plan and they would ask for an upfront fee in order to ring my account up to date before proceeding. Once I gave them the money they would tell me that they could not do anything for me now and to call back before my next payment would be due to work something out. When I would call again they would not be willing to work out a payment plan. Since then I have stopped answering calls from navient who is also hounding my co-signer. They call on the weekends and at night time hours. Last week my mother informed me that a letter was sent to her home from navient saying that I have until -/-/- 2015 to contact them or I would go into litigation. Why was this letter not sent to my address they have it on file. I do not see my parents every day. I have been doing research on Navient and it seems that many people receive agreements on payment plans but since they have not gotten anything in writing those plans are not honored. Many people on the internet advise to record the phone calls you have with them online. Today -/-/- 2015 and I attempted to speak to Navient about my loan but NOT A SINGLE PERSON was willing to speak to me with the conversation being recorded and on top of that after inquiring why the representative was extremely rude and told me that she would hang up on me. Not even the account manager or higher ups were willing to speak to me under the condition of their voice being recorded. All I want to do is to be able to set up an affordable payment plan with this company but it seems that they are unwilling to work with their customers.
