Synchrony Bank Credit card department,
Closing/Cancelling account District of Columbia
- established a relationship with GE Capital for what is called " PayPal Smart Connect Debit Card '' ( MasterCard ). I was given a $300.00 credit limit. The relationship was transferred - to Synchrony Bank -/-/-. Hence, the new company has instituted policies that undermine the original relationship with GE Capital. My complaint is that Synchrony Bank without written notice -/-/- changed my credit ceiling limit down to the exact amount of the unpaid balance of $130.00. I use the card for Business & Personal expenses and it is tied to my Social Security number as a Tax ID. Thus, they used my credit report to make the decision. As a result, I closed the account and forfeited my privilege of credit towards my - purchasing. I feel the decision was unfair because I had no payment delinquencies. Now Synchrony Bank is still demanding the minimum $25.00 monthly payment on a CLOSED ACCOUNT. I intend to pay off the balance, but do not feel there should be a penalty ( late fee ) or demand of $25.00 since the account can not be used and this is just to payoff a closed account.
