Synchrony Bank Credit card department,
Closing/Cancelling account Michigan
I had a CareCredit account through Synchrony Bank. I just received notification that my account was closed due to inactivity in the last 12 months. Given the nature of the account being for medical needs, I never would have thought I needed to use it within a specific period of time to keep it open. How can I plan when medical needs will arise? Of course, now I do have a procedure scheduled for which I was planning on using this account however when I called to ask to have my account reactivated, I was told that was impossible. If it 's possible to close it, how is not possible to reopen it? My letter clearly states the closure was not based credit behavior. I also want to point out that I was not notified my account was scheduled to be closed so I had no chance to request it remain open. When I questioned the lack of notice during my call with Synchrony, I was told they did notify me with a letter telling me account was closed. What good does it do me to notify me after you already have closed my account without having the ability to reinstate it. Account closure letter dated -/-/15, received -/-/15.
