Synchrony Bank Credit card department,
I have a JC Penny Charge Card and have had it for more than 30 years. For many years I have kept this card at a zero balance. I used the card only to keep it active and did some minor charges in - 2015. For the record, on - -, 2015, I thought about my account and realized that I did not receive a statement from JC Penney. So I went on line, and checked. Much to my amazement I had a payment due on -/-/2015. I called JC Penny on Friday -/-/2015 and told them that I did not appreciate their deceptive tactics which is not sending me a statement at all and then popping me with an $18.00 late fee. I told them that the only reason I was contacting them was to inform them that I am reporting them to the FTC for deceptive credit practices. The late fee is really a non-issue, the issue is JC Penney Credit is conducting deceptive credit practices, I am reporting it, and I expect the FTC to take note and take appropriate actions to protect other consumers. Also for the record, my -/-/- JC Penney statement arrived a few weeks ago as it should and I paid on time as I should. It really helps out consumers a lot when we are mailed our statements and are informed of the due date. Sincerely, - - -
