I was the first one in my family to attend college and nobody could afford to send me completely. I received significant scholarship funding and financial aid but still needed to take out about $50.00 - in private loans. Over the last three years, the interest has boosted that amount to $ - already. This is in conjunction with federal financial aid that is well over - figures. There is no way I 'll be able to support myself and I 'll have to move back home. They charged me just under 10 % interest on a loan for $ -. This is obscene. I would have been better off not attending college.
