We went to the TCF branch in - MN. -/-/- 2015. We wanted a fixed rate mortgage, so TCF set us up. We went through all of paper work and the time..and at the very last minute they told us we did n't qualify for the fixed rate but they could set us up with a variable rate mortgage. So because TCF 's appraisers lack of timeliness and TCF 's lack of follow through with the appraiser had already posponed our closing date from - -, 2015 to - -, 2015. We took the variable rate so we could close on the property. We handed off the variable rate mortgage to -. - and with the same information that TCF had, and was able to secure the fixed rate mortgage that we wanted. With - institutions using - -. We submitted - letters of complaint to TCF and as of this date there has been no response to either. We did request that because of the sub standard customer service we received from TCF we did n't expect to pay any costs to them including appraisal fees. They acknowledged the request but when we requested an transfer of appraisal to -. - the cost to us was $250.00. It was the worst customer service the we have ever experienced anywhere. We really felt like TCF did a bait and switch with us.
