In - of 2013 we used our Lowes card as a family of military veterans to purchase appliances for our home. We had planned to pay off the card before the introductory interest and service fee period ran out. Unfortunately, I had -, so we were unable to pay off the debt ; due to my sudden permanent -. We contacted Lowes and let them know, and the qualified us for an assistance program, that was supposed to withhold interest and fees, that they never actually put us on. We owe $1700.00 on our Lowes card. After the egregious service '' charges, interest fees, etc came through on our account, that sum is now $5200.00! That is $3400.00 in charges! For what?! We have been making the payments that we can. We have already paid $1000.00 in their horrendous fees. I am now protected by the -, and I am told by the - that because of my status as a - person, we can get some or all of the debt discharged. Today, -/-/2015, I was told by - that that is n't true. That they do n't have any allowances for - people, and we should have paid the card off, because this extra $3400.00 is our punishment. '' Imagine that. Nearly $3500.00 punishment '' charge added on for becoming -. This seems so very wrong wrong wrong.
