Synchrony Bank Credit card department,
Credit line increase/decrease Virginia
On - -, 2015 I submitted a $300.00 payment to Synchrony Bank to bring my balance on a line of credit that they hold for Amazon.Com. Following the payments posting, this bank decreased my original credit line from $700.00 to $390.00 which was $0.00 more than the remaining balance. When I called to find why my account was showing a $0.00 amount of credit, I was informed that the bank had reduced my credit line not based on my payment history with them but because they had reviewed my credit history and it was based on that. I have had this account open for almost two years and have never been behind on my payments with them. I did not request a increase of the credit line therefore they had no right to run my credit for any reason. I feel this is a bank charging high rates on consumers who feel that they can just do whatever they like doing and that there is no one who can do anything about it. This reduction in credit has a adverse effective on my overall credit score at a time when my wife and I are trying to purchase our first home. This is not right!
