Ford Motor Credit Company Consumer loan department,
Vehicle lease Taking out the loan or lease Pennsylvania
I contacted Lincoln Automotive Financial Services for a lease payoff on - occasions. I was quoted a dollar amount. When the dealer called to confirm the payoff amount for my early lease termination, he was instructed to call the dealership I leased the vehicle from ( - - - in - ). The payoff amount quoted was $1000.00 higher. I contacted the dealership and was told this was due to the early termination fee the dealership charges for terminating the lease early. I was not returning the vehicle to the dealership, it was being purchased by a new dealership. He could not substantiate what this fee included and when I complained, he agreed to lower the amount to $500.00 ( which he stated was the early termination fee charged for customers who leased another Lincoln ). I reviewed my lease agreement and it does not state an early termination fee. There is only a warning that a substantial early termination charge may be incurred. I terminated the lease - payments early. The individuals I spoke with at Lincoln Automotive Financial Services never informed me of this fee or the requirement to contact the dealer for the exact payoff. I believe this early termination fee is excessive and should be clearly stated on the Lease Agreement in order to be charged.
