This company is reporting an incorrect status on my credit report. This account was obtained by Portfolio Recovery Associates -/-/- and has since been reporting as an open and revolving account, even though it is a collection account. This company is updating my as a charge off on credit report every month making it appear that I am getting a new charge off/ late status on my credit report every month. After paying the company my debt owed in -/-/- the company again updated the account as a closed charge off, and left a years worth of late payments on my credit file. I have tried to ommunicate this error with the company directly multiple times, and the company only ever says they are reporting correctly, and that is is the credit bureaus faul, which is incorrect. A collections company should not be reporting a charge off status as they were not the ones who extended the credit to begin with, and they should ot be reporting as a revolving account.
