Conventional fixed mortgage Loan modification,collection,foreclosure Maryland

I was on a trial period for a loan modification through PNC Mortgage. I made the first trial payment, but unfortunately the - payment was applied mistakenly to a different account through - -. The mortgage company is telling me that they want to sell my home in 40 days. Please help, we just got back from out of town.
