And, make payment arrangements. I did. I am a - Veteran. I was in recovery from hospitalization and I did not have a wheelchair to be in court. This is why I made PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS according to court papers mailed to me. I called the phone number and was in contact with someone at collection agency who set up the agreement for my file # and sent the contract for me to sign. Debt collection false statements or representation attempted to collect wrong amount April 8, 2015 - I received an intent to sue notification in the mail on a debt to an apartment complex from a company called Wakefield and Associates. I knew this debt was owed and attempted to pay it immediately upon moving out of the apartment complex. I was told repeatedly that they did not have a balance for me so I quit perusing it until I received this summons from Wakefield. I immediately called them to try to settle out of court and set up monthly payments.
