Fifth Third Bank Credit card application processing delay September 15, 2015 - I received a mail offer to open a new credit card from Fifth Third Bank, -, OH. I submitted an online application in -. I received a letter dated -/-/2015 from the bank, asking for a copy of my Social Security Card. I sent a copy of my Social Security Card by First Class mail, within 30 days as required in the letter. As I received no response from the bank for several days, I called their customer service center and was told that they have received the required document from me and were processing the application.
